Sipeed MaixCAM

Sipeed

Compact AI vision and audio development board built around the SOPHGO SG2002, pairing a 1 GHz RISC-V C906 core with a 700 MHz companion core and a 1 TOPS INT8 NPU that also runs BF16 models. It carries 256MB of DDR3, a 2.3-inch IPS touchscreen and dual MIPI-CSI camera inputs, and is programmed through the MaixPy and MaixCDK SDKs.

The openness axis weighs published SDKs, schematics and datasheets against the SG2002 silicon itself. Verified 2026-08-13 via the Sipeed MaixCam wiki page and the MaixPy repository.

Sold globally via AliExpress and Taobao with an active MaixPy/MaixHub community, but reach is concentrated among hobbyist and RISC-V edge-AI developers. MaixPy is active and now banners a successor part ("MaixCam 2 is LIVE") while still listing MaixCAM and MaixCAM-Pro as supported platforms, and the wiki carries live Taobao and AliExpress purchase links.

1 TOPS and only 256MB RAM suit lightweight vision/audio models, the lowest compute tier among these devices. The spec table reads "1TOPS@INT8, BF16 model support" with a 1GHz RISC-V C906 and 256MB DDR3, which is the smallest part in this category, below google-coral-dev-board's 4 TOPS.
