Khadas publishes versioned board schematics and an open GPL-2.0 toolchain with mainline Armbian support. Proprietary Rockchip silicon and required firmware blobs keep it at the open-toolchain tier rather than fully open hardware.

The RK3588S2 NPU delivers 6 TOPS, handling real-time CV and small quantized LLMs, mid-tier versus Jetson Orin. The product page reads "up to 6 TOPS" on the RK3588S2 NPU with 8GB or 16GB LPDDR4X, which is level with orange-pi-5 (also 6 TOPS, also 3) and below radxa-rock-5b, whose 32GB LPDDR5 option carries it to 4.
